Rhode Island Antique Fire Apparatus Society Antique Fire Apparatus & Equipment Show
The Rhode Island Antique Fire Apparatus Society has scheduled its 13th Annual Antique Fire Apparatus and Equipment Show to take place on Sunday, September 17, 2017.
Show hours are 10:00am – 3:00pm at Burr’s Hill Park, 540 Water Street, Warren, Rhode Island. Admission to the show is FREE, however we will be collecting new, unwrapped toys which will be distributed to needy children during the holidays. The show will consist of a display of antique motorized fire apparatus and other fire memorabilia. Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog are also scheduled to make an appearance. Joe Vingi of Pleasure Sounds Unlimited will be providing musical entertainment, and Mike Higgins will carve two wooden sculptures to be raffled. The first will be a fire memorabilia display piece and the second will be a lighthouse.
RIAFAS was founded in 2004 by 8 people with 5 antique fire trucks. Today membership is approximately 150 members with approximately 80 antique fire trucks.
Anyone with antique fire apparatus who wishes to display in the show should email RIAFAS Secretary, Bill Willett at RIAFAS_SECRETARY@COX.NET for a registration form. Deadline to register for the show is Sunday, September 10th.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, & refreshments will be provided by the Providence Canteen and RIAFAS souvenir t-shirts and hats will be sold during the show to help raise money for the Society.
