Event Description:
Though the primary goals of feminism may be common, there are many differences in women's interests across race, ethnicity, sexuality and class. It became apparent during the 2017 Women's March that not all women felt welcome. How can feminism avoid promoting only the interests of white middle class and wealthy women? How can women come together, recognizing intersectional differences as a progressive force for social change? This is the topic that will be explored at this month's Cocktails & Conversations event. Panelists: Justice Gaines, Trans poet and activist Loren Spears, Executive Director, Tomaquag Museum Ditra Edwards, Founder, Sista Fire Cash bar and appetizers will be included. Sponsored by IGT.
Directions:
