Event Description: The Rhody Native™ initiative works with the local horticulture industry to propagate Rhode Island’s native plant species. Native plants are becoming more popular in gardens and garden design as homeowners look for plants that adapt well to our climate and soil conditions, celebrate our local landscape, and provide food and shelter for native wildlife and pollinators. Learn the basics of native species propagation, by seed, in this hands-on workshop. You will take home a mixed flat of native plant seeds to overwinter and watch germinate in the spring. We will discuss seed collection, ethical issues, and cleaning techniques.
