Event Description:
Linden Place Museum is proud to host an additional special presentation, inside Linden Place Mansion, focused specifically on the DeWolf Family and their involvement in the triangle Slave Trade. Featured in the PBS film “Traces of the Trade”, The DeWolf family, former inhabitants of Linden Place Mansion and Bristol’s premier family in the 18th and early 19th centuries, was once one of the largest traders of slaves in New England. The presentation will take place on Saturday, March 9th at 10:00am at historic Linden Place, the Federal-style mansion built by architect Russell Warren for George DeWolf. Bristol’s lengthy and profitable involvement in the slave trade will be discussed in depth.
Directions:
Linden Place Museum, talk will take place inside the mansion.
