Event Description: Location: Rhode Island Society of CPAs, 40 Sharpe Drive, Unit 5, Cranston, RI (Front of building under back awning) This workshop will provide small business owners with valuable information on establishing human resource policies that comply with legal requirements and lead to a productive, motivated workforce. We will cover a range of HR topics, including the need for a human resource plan as part of the business plan; how to set up human resources for your organization; the importance of understanding human resource federal and state regulatory compliance and employment law; establishing human resource systems that are productive and effective, including the hiring process; onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation, etc.; and the importance of documentation trails that protect the organization from issues such as wrongful discharge, filing for unemployment, and others.
