Event Description: Beat the winter doldrums and prep for gardening season! Winter is the perfect time to begin planning your garden for the spring, get inspiration and learn new techniques from experts. Every month, Linden Place Mansion, an historic 200 year-old mansion and gardens in Bristol, is hosting talks and discussions lead by experienced gardeners about best practices, new techniques and more. The talks take place at 1pm on the second Wednesday of every month at Linden Place. The purpose is to share proven, science based gardening practices and to reach gardeners of all ages and abilities for learning new techniques, avoid bad practices, and share your own expertise. All presentations during the year are lead by trained and/or professional gardeners and will encourage group discussions and questions. On Wednesday, February 12th at 1pm, local garden design expert, John Allen, will discuss ways to keep color and interest in your garden all year long, with a focus on plans that have proven successful in the East Bay. Allen has had a life-long interest in plant selection, especially perennials and vegetables. In 2011, he formalized his interest by becoming became a Master Gardener. John now has a consulting service in Landscape Design. Admission is free but reservations requested.
