Closing the Year Strong: Year-End Business Planning
Presenter: Talia Cyr, Investment Advisor Representative
Description:
As a woman running a business, it’s easy to stay focused on day-to-day operations and forget about the bigger financial picture. Before you close the books on this year, join us for a discussion about what really matters in year-end planning — from understanding your cash flow and tax savings strategies to being prepared for what lies ahead. You’ll walk away with clarity and a simple checklist for success.Bio: Talia believes there’s nothing more powerful than embracing the “hot mess.”
Women spend so much of life trying to be perfect—but when we let go, give ourselves grace, and move forward anyway, that’s when we become authentic and unstoppable. As a wealth advisor and co-founding partner of the Wealth Wise Women’s Community, Talia empowers women to build lasting confidence—both in their lives and in their financial future—so they can create true security. She sits on a team managing over $10 million in assets and serves on her firm’s investment committee, reviewing strategies and portfolio selections. With a background in investment banking, global fixed income, and equity research, Talia brings deep expertise to every client relationship. Talia is a Rhode Island native, newly married, and grew up surrounded by a family of entrepreneurs, which gives her firsthand experience of the challenges self-employed individuals face.
Talia is passionate about helping women make their money work for them—optimizing finances, managing taxes, reducing debt, and positioning their businesses to thrive. Her approach is personal, empowering, and rooted in partnership—because financial confidence starts with knowing you’re not in it alone.

Each month, we explore intriguing topics in the arts, history, horticulture, environmental science, and climate change.
Indoor and outdoor learning experiences complete our curriculum, which aligns with RI, MA, and CT state standards. Between sessions, there is plenty of time to enjoy a nice picnic or run out some energy on the Great Lawn. Check our website for more information on our monthly themes and activities.

Working from photographs —you’ll learn how to turn memories into expressive pages in your sketchbook. We’ll focus on capturing architectural elements or landscape details using permanent marker line work and loose watercolor washes to evoke mood, season, and key visual impressions.
Christina will demonstrate the basics of foundational techniques and mixing and applying watercolor. Designed to encourage creative exploration, artistic license is always encouraged. This is your sketchbook and your unique journey—feel free to follow the rules, bend them, or flip them entirely.
Bring your curiosity, a mixed-media or watercolor sketchbook, a favorite travel photo, fine-line pens, and a watercolor set. Leave with new skills, fresh inspiration, and a more personal approach to documenting your travels through art.
